Denture zirconia disc

 

Denture zirconia discs are high-performance dental materials used to create durable, high-quality dentures. These discs are available in diameters of 98mm, 71mm and 95mm, suitable for a variety of milling machines, and in thicknesses ranging from 10mm to 25mm. The zirconium oxide material used has excellent strength and translucency, and its appearance is very similar to natural teeth.

These zirconium oxide discs are compatible with a range of CAD/CAM systems and can be seamlessly integrated into existing workflows. By reducing wear on milling tools and ensuring efficiency in the production process, dental professionals are able to create dentures more efficiently and with improved quality.

Manufacturing process:
Nano-scale powder pretreatment:
Use high-purity 3Y-TZP zirconium oxide powder (particle size 0.2-0.4μm), and form spherical particles with excellent fluidity (particle size distribution ±5%) through spray granulation process, eliminating density gradient during pressing;
Isostatic pressing:
Cold isostatic pressing is performed under ultra-high pressure of 200-300MPa to form a pre-sintered body with a diameter of 98-120mm and a thickness of 18-30mm, with a density uniformity of ≥99.5%, to avoid edge cracking during cutting;
Two-stage pre-sintering:
Low-temperature pre-sintering stage (950℃): remove organic binders and form a porous structure (density 3.2-3.3 g/cm³), which is convenient for CAD/CAM precision processing;

High temperature pre-sintering stage (1150℃): partial densification improves the strength of the blank (bending strength ≥50MPa), and supports the engraving of complex denture brackets;

Gradient sintering technology:

The final sintering adopts a multi-stage temperature control curve (peak 1450℃), and eliminates internal stress by slowly heating (＜5℃/min). The shrinkage rate is accurately locked at 20.5%±0.2%, ensuring the positioning accuracy of the full denture (edge ​​tightness ≤40μm);

Fully automatic surface treatment:

Laser marking locates the reference point, and CNC grinding ensures the parallelism of the disk surface ≤0.01mm, which is suitable for efficient processing of 5-axis cutting equipment.

Raw materials: medical grade zirconium oxide and functional modifiers
Base material:

3Y-TZP zirconium oxide (yttrium stabilized zirconium oxide): yttrium content 5.1-5.3wt%, crystalline phase is 100% tetragonal phase, three-point bending strength after sintering ≥1200MPa, in line with ISO 13356 oral restoration material standard;

Enhancing additives:

Alumina nanoparticles (0.05-0.1wt%): improve sintering activity, reduce densification temperature by about 50°C, and reduce energy consumption;

Cerium oxide (CeO₂): inhibit low temperature aging (LTD) effect, strength retention rate >98% after 10 years of simulated aging test;

Molding aids:

Environmentally friendly water-based binder: no residue after high temperature decomposition, carbon content <0.01%, avoid pores after sintering;

Nano dispersant: ensure uniform dispersion of powder particles, porosity <0.1% after pressing.
