Acrylic Resin pmma block For Denture

Zotion dental PMMA blocks are made from highly cross-linked polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) and can be used for temporary restorations including crowns and bridges. The blocks are available in single-layer, multi-layer and flexible resin options and are compatible with leading CAD/CAM systems such as Wieland, VHF, Roland, Imes-Icore, Zirkonzahn and Amann Girrbach. Diameters are available in 98 mm, 95 mm and AG71 mm and in a variety of colours including A0, A1, B1, Vita 16, Pink and Clear. Used for denture restorations, temporary crowns and sculpted trays as an alternative to dental wax, these PMMA blocks offer numerous benefits. They have excellent biocompatibility, natural tooth colour, superior wear resistance and are manufactured under a high temperature and pressure process to ensure durability. The multi-layer variants offer excellent machinability, stress-free processing to reduce deformation, a high melting point to ensure stability during milling, and anti-static properties for a smooth and efficient workflow. With a hardness of 75-85, a melting point of 240-270°C, a density of 1.19, excellent toughness, good processability, an ash content of 0.029% and a shrinkage of 0.5%, these PMMA blocks ensure precision, durability and efficiency in dental restorative procedures.

Acrylic Resin pmma block For Denture

1.One of the main benefits of Acrylic Resin pmma block For Denture is its ability to mimic the natural appearance of teeth and gums. Dentures made from PMMA can be custom shaded to match the patient's natural teeth and gums, resulting in a more natural-looking smile. The material is also resistant to staining, so the prosthetics retain their bright and vibrant color even with regular use.

2.Another advantage of Acrylic Resin pmma block For Denture is its durability. PMMA is extremely tough and resistant to impact. It is also lightweight, making

it comfortable to wear and reducing the risk of fracture or damage to the underlying gums and bone.

3.Acrylic Resin pmma block For Denture is also easy to work with and manipulate. It can be shaped and polished to the precise contours required for maximum comfort and function, and it can be added to or adjusted as needed over time.to their dentures.

PMMA block manufacturing process:

1. Raw material preparation
PMMA powder: The main component is polymethyl methacrylate, usually with benzoyl peroxide as an initiator, as well as plasticizers, sunscreens and pigments.

Liquid monomer: Mainly methyl methacrylate (MMA) monomer, which may contain crosslinkers (such as ethylene glycol dimethacrylate) and inhibitors (such as hydroquinone).

2. Mixing and prepolymerization
Mix PMMA powder and MMA monomer in a specific proportion to form a plastic paste. This process requires temperature and time control to prevent premature polymerization.

3. Molding
Place the mixture in a mold and form a blank of the desired shape by pressing or injection molding. Common molding methods include:

Compression molding: Place the mixture in a mold and press it into shape.

Injection molding: Inject the mixture into a mold, suitable for products with complex shapes.

4. Polymerization and curing
The molded blank needs to be polymerized and cured to obtain the required mechanical properties. Common curing methods include:

Thermal polymerization: The blank is placed in a water bath and heated to decompose the initiator and promote the polymerization reaction. The commonly used thermal polymerization cycle is 9 hours at 74°C, or 20 minutes at 100°C.

Microwave polymerization: The blank is heated using microwave energy to promote the polymerization reaction. This method has a short polymerization time, usually completed in 3 minutes at 500W power.

Autopolymerization: The polymerization reaction is initiated by a chemical initiator (such as tertiary amine) without external heating. The degree of polymerization in this method is low, and residual monomers may exist.

Photocuring: Use a photosensitive initiator to initiate polymerization under visible light irradiation. This method has strong controllability, but the curing depth is limited.

5. Post-processing
The cured PMMA block needs to be post-processed, including demoulding, trimming, polishing, etc., to obtain a smooth surface and precise size.

6. Storage and transportation
The prepared PMMA block should be stored in a dry, light-proof environment to prevent moisture and ultraviolet radiation to maintain its performance.
